[BKC] Normandy D+2

8 de junio de 1944, han pasado dos días desde los desembarcos en las playas de Normandía y las tropas aliadas empiezan a penetrar en suelo francés. Una de las puntas de avance, se encuentra al amanecer, con una columna de refuerzos alemanes que se dirigen al frente.

June 8, 1944, have been two days since the landings on the Normandy beaches and allied troops begin to enter French territory. One of the points forward, at dawn, it found a column of German reinforcements that go to the front.

Las tropas mecanizadas alemanas avanzan por el flanco izquierdo, mientras el resto de la infantería avanza por el flanco derecho. A su vez, los americanos realizan un avance  tambien por los flancos, despreciando el centro del campo de batalla.

German mechanized troops advance on the left flank, while the rest of the infantry advancing on the right flank. In turn, the Americans also made a breakthrough on the flanks, despising the center of the battlefield.

Los alemanes, desplazan a su infantería para tomar el pueblo del centro del campo de batalla, mientras protegen la carretera con un Pak-40. Por su lado, los americanos esperan en sus posiciones a que la artillería ataque al enemigo y así poder avanzar más fácilmente.

Los alemanes cuentan con tres tanques Sherman (Pnz IV) capturados en Italia unos meses antes. Estos tanques avanzan con la protección de un pelotón de infantería mecanizada.

Finalmente, llega la artillería americana. El bombardeo de los Caliope, aunque muy ruidoso, se muestra poco efectivo. Pero la infantería americana, aprovecha el caos y el ruido para avanzar.

Los blindados de los dos ejércitos, se enzarzan en un cañoneo a corta distancia. Por suerte, la posición alemana, impide que los americanos puedan emplear su superioridad numérica contra ellos y el combate está muy igualado.

The tanks of the two armies are engaged in a battle to gunshots at close range. Fortunately, the German position, prevents Americans can use their numerical superiority and the fight against them is very close.

Tras avanzar con la obertura de los bombardeos, los americanos flanquean la posición del ATG alemán y lo eliminan.

En el flanco derecho, una confusión de las ordenes, provoca que, los tanques americanos abandonen sus posiciones, permitiendo a los alemanes avanzar desde el centro y la derecha y presionar a los aliados. Por otro lado, en el flanco izquierdo, la superioridad numérica de los americanos, empieza a imponerse sobre las tropas del Eje.

On the right flank, a confusion of orders, causes, American tanks leave their positions, allowing the Germans to advance from the center and the right and press the allies. On the other hand, on the left flank, the numerical superiority of the Americans, begins to prevail over the Axis troops.

Finalmente, tras varias horas de intensos combates, los dos ejércitos rompen el contacto y se retiran del campo de batalla, sin un venedor claro.

[Island of Glory] Sittin' Ducks

Segunda partida de la campaña. En esta ocasión "Sittin' Ducks". Tres tanques americanos Stuard, han quedado varados en una playa y los japoneses intentan aprovechar la ocasión para eliminarlos.

La partida fue muy rápida, al principio las dotaciones de los tanques, básicamente, se dedicaron a quedarse dentro de los vehículos, mientras que los japoneses empezaron una aproximación muy cauta a los tanques.

The game was very fast, at first the crews of tanks basically devoted themselves to stay inside vehicles, while the Japanese began a very cautious approach to the tanks.

Al final, gracias a una granada del Comandante del último de los tanques, victoria menor americana.

[Shako II] Choque fronterizo

Verano de 1809, Francia se encuentra en plena campaña contra Austria y la Quinta Coalición, mientras su aliado ruso, se encontraba enfrascado en la Guerra Finlandesa. En la frontera, dos ejercito teóricamente aliados, está a punto de enfrentarse en una cruenta batalla cerca de Chernigov.

Summer of 1809, France is in full campaign against Austria and Fifth Coalition, while his Russian ally, was locked in the Finnish War. At the border with Austria two theoretically allied army, they are about to face in a bloody battle near Chernigov.

Las tropas del Mariscal Zaborovki, que han estado patrullando la frontera con el Imperio Otomano durante el verano, para evitar un ataque mientras el grueso de fuerzas rusas se encuentran en Finlandia para resolver el conflicto con Suecia, se reagrupan a traves de la frontera con Austria. A su vez, parte de un Cuerpo de Ejercito Francés, maniobra para cortar la retirada a las tropas Austriacas. Al amanecer, las dos vanguardias topan y se produce el desastre, los aliados se atacan.

Zaborovki Marshal troops, who have been patrolling the border with the Ottoman Empire during the summer, to avoid an attack while the bulk of Russian forces are in Finland, to resolve the conflict with Sweden. El Mariscal Zaborovki organizó a sus tropas en cuatro Divisiones la de Vanguardia, que desplegaría a la izquierda del campo de batalla, era una División Mixta, formada por Batallones de Jagers y dos Regimientos de Husares. En el centro, la División principal, formada por las tropas de Línea y una Gran Batería con más de 20 cañones. Finalmente, para proteger el flanco derecho, la División de Granaderos, bajo el mando de Burtosev. La reserva de caballería se despliega en retaguardia, lejos del frente, con ordenes de entrar a media mañana para intentar a tacar a los franceses por su flanco izquierdo.

The Zaborovki marshal, he organized his troops into four divisions. Las tropas francesas, con poca artillería y con su caballería fuera del campo de batalla, se ven forzados a avanzar contra el centro ruso y su Gran Batería, sufriendo un tremendo castigo por el fuego de la artillería.

Las tropas del flanco izquierdo ruso, presionan a los franceses para romper su línea de avance, mientras los granaderos, amenazan a una columna que avanza frente a ellos.

Finalmente, a media mañana, llegan las caballerías de ambos ejércitos. Esto, precipita la batalla, ya que las unidades más pesadas de caballería, se lanzan contra las infanterías que están en campo abierto. Algunos batallones rusos consiguen formar cuadros de forma precipitada, los que no lo consiguen, son arrasados. Los franceses se ven en la misma situación. Los combaten en el flanco derecho ruso, se ha transformado en unos minutos en unas trepidantes cargas y contra-cargas de caballería y desesperados combates de la infantería.

Finally, mid-morning, the cavalry of both armies arrive. This precipitates the battle, since the heaviest cavalry charge against infantry units that are in the open. Some Russian battalions get to form, hasty square, those who do not, they are destroyed. The French are in the same situation. The fighting on the Russian right flank, has been transformed in a few minutes in a thrilling charges and counter-charges of cavalry and infantry fighting desperate.

El centro franceses se desmorona y empieza a ceder, los combates en el flanco dereco se mantienen muy igualados pero la caballería gala se impone en el flanco izquierdo. La batalla está extremadamente igualada y las bajas en ambos bandos se acumulan rápidamente.

The French center collapses and begins to give way, fighting on the right flank remain closely matched but the Gallic cavalry is imposed on the left flank. The battle is extremely even and the casualties on both sides quickly accumulate.

Al medio día, ambos Generales, ordenan a sus tropas que rompan el contacto, conseguir la victoria, llegados a este punto,  sería demasiado costoso para ninguno de los dos ejércitos. Así que, poco a poco, las tropas dejan de disparar y retroceden, sin perder de vista a sus rivales.

At midday, both General, ordered his troops to break contact, get the victory, at this point, would be too expensive for either of the two armies. So, gradually, troops stop shooting back and forth, without losing sight of their rivals.
