[Warhammer Fantasy] Strigoi vs Night Goblins - Armies Project

 

Empezamos el año con una buena batalla de Warhammer Fantasy Armies Project. En esta ocasión Vinç y Sergi han reunido 2600 puntos cada uno (mas de 5000 puntos sobre la mesa) para arrancar este nuevo año de partidas y batallas. Podréis leer también el informe de batalla de los no muertos en el blog de Vinç, Bastió del Nord, así como ver fotos de todo el ejercito y personajes pintados de Vinç.

We begin the year with a battle of Warhammer Fantasy armies Project. This time Vinç and Sergi deployed 2600 points each one to start up this new year of games and battles. This AAR can also be found at Vinç's blog Bastió del Nord as well ass photos of his whole army and characters.

Tras muchos meses reclutando tropas, el ejército Strigoi de Vinç ha crecido de forma espectacular (y lo que le queda por montar y pintar). En esta partida se puso en el campo de batalla casi todas las fuerzas con las que cuenta completamente pintadas. Sergi por su parte, rasco el fondo de los pozos de Garrapatos para alinear a las tropas, incluso recurrió a varias unidades de goblin de comunes para llegar al límite de puntos. La mesa, realmente quedó espectacular y el rio en el medio, le dio un punto muy interesante a la batalla, dividiendo el campo en dos mini batallas, prácticamente independientes.

After months recruiting troops, Vinç's Strigoi army has grown immensely (and there is more coming this way). This time he deployed almost all his painted forces. Sergi scrapped the Squig's pits in order to muster enough warriors, even using several units of common goblins to reach the point size of the battle. The table looked spectacular and the river at the middle of it divided the field in two almost-separate clashes.

Los goblin desplegaron sus fuerzas de forma más o menos homogénea, en dos líneas de batalla, no entraban todas las miniaturas en una sola línea de frente. Las unidades de troles en el centro, cerca del Gran Jefe que comandaba a las tropas y con los gigantes, Susto y Disgusto, en los flancos. Además en el flanco izquierdo desplegaron las unidades rápidas, carros de lobos, vagoneta snotling y los garrapatos saltarines. Los Strigoi, por su lado, concentraron el grueso de sus fuerzas en su margen derecho del rio, dejando a los Horrores de la Cripta y a monstruos similares el margen izquierdo. Los lobos espectrales fueron situados en primera fila para intentar hacer salir a los más que probables fanáticos goblin, mientras grandes unidades de zombis, carroñeros y vampiros formaban su línea de batalla principal.

The goblins deployed more or less homogeneusly in two battlelines because of size issues. The trolls at the center, near the Big Boss and both giants, Scare & Disgust (sounds better in Spanish), at the flanks. At the left flank there were also the quick units: the wolf riders, the snotling wagon and the squig hoppers. The Strigoi concentrated their foces at the right shore of the river, leaving the crypt horrors and similarm onsters at the left one. The dire wolves at the front in order to provoke goblin fanatics while big units of zombies, ghouls and vampires formed his main battleline.

La batalla empezó con un avance de la primera línea de los gobos, bueno, realmente, con el movimiento de aproximación de las unidades de caballería ligera de ambos ejércitos.  Los gobos, viendo lo que se les venia encima, optaron por adelantar a su masa de arqueros y a sus carros para presionar a los Lobos espectrales, mientras la segunda línea permanecía estática para dejar espacio de maniobra. Los garrapatos saltarines, de un gran salto, contactan con la unidad de Lobos Espectrales del flanco izquierdo piel verde y aplastan, mastican y pinchan a los pobres Lobos, la unidad es aniquilada, lo que permite a los garrapatos y sus alocados jinetes saltar de nuevo y romper la línea de batalla no muerta por ese flanco. Cerca del rio, una andanada de los arqueros gobos también elimina por completo a otra unidad de Lobos Espectrales. Mientras que los chamanes consiguen lanzar pocos hechizos, con la excepción del Gran Chaman que reuniendo las fuerzas del Waagh, invoca a la Luna Malvada para lanzar un tremendo hechizo, pero esto termina con una increíble explosión alrededor del mago que mata a más de ¡40 goblin del flanco derecho!

The battle started with the light cavalry of both armies closing in as the goblin moved forward their mass of archers and their chariots in order to press the dire wolves while the second line remained estationary so maneuvering was possible. The squig hoppers then crashed against the left flank wolves and chew them to dust. With their foe vanquished the hopping goblins break the undead line and press forward. Near the river the voley of goblin archery finishes off another dire wolf unit. The shamansmagical efforts are mostly fruitless as the great shaman manages to botch up his attempt at summoning the Evil Moon and causes an enormous explosion which incinerates more than forty goblins at the right flank.

Los no muertos responden al avance de los goblin, en el flanco izquierdo, las grandes criaturas de los Strigoi se mueven en dirección a la orilla del rio, quieren evitar la carga de Susto, uno de los gigantes, mientras en el centro, las tropas empiezan a acortar distancias con los pequeños pieles verdes. La última unidad de Lobos Espectrales mueve en dirección al centro del campo de batalla, ya que en el flanco derecho, donde está, no hay unidades de goblin nocturnos y no tiene ganas de enfrentarse a los carros de lobos y sus cuchillas. El Nigromante intenta invocar más zombis para su unidad, pero uno de los chamanes goblin, con una risa maliciosa, desenrolla un pergamino y consigue destruir el hecho del mago no muerto. Los necrófagos, que han visto pasar de largo a los jinetes de garrapato, dan media vuelta y cargan contra ellos por la espalda. El combate es rápido y brutal y la intervención de un vampiro decanta el resultado rápidamente a favor de los no muertos, que aniquilan a los garrapatos y a los gobos que van con ellos.

The undead big monsters of the left flank move then to the river in order to avoid Scare the giant while at the center the vampiric battleline approaches the greenskins. The remaining dire wolf unit moves to the center since the right flank has been cleansed of goblins by their own "great" shaman with only the scythed chariots reamining. The necromancer tries to reanimate more zombies but one of the golbin shamans destroys the spell with a dusty parchroll and a petty laugh. The ghouls, who had just seen the squig hoppers pass them by, turn and charge them by the rear, led by a vampire. The fight is short and brutal and the overconfident hoppers are annihilated.

Susto, el gigante del flanco derecho de los goblins, carga contra los Cortesanos de la Cripta Infernal chillando y dando voces como un poseso, las bestias no muertas muerden y arañan al gigante, pero este consigue soportar el chaparrón y ganar el combate. Una nota positiva para ese flanco de los goblin. En el centro, los arqueros hacen una descarga cerrada sobre los Horrores de la Cripta, pero no causan ningún daño contra esas monstruosidades. Los horrores cargan contra los arqueros, los cuales, pese a su número y al fuego de reacción, no consiguen prácticamente nada. los arqueros salen huyendo seguidos de cerca de los horrores. Estos, se meten en la trampa de los gobos sin darse cuenta. Los troles de piedra aguantan la carga de los horrores mientras los arqueros gobos huyen a través de sus líneas mientras las unidades de lanceros que hay detrás sueltan a sus fanáticos contra los horrores y los troles.  Los Cortesanos de la Cripta consiguen eliminar a Susto, pero este al caer aplasta a la unidad matando a todos los Cortesanos. El Varghulf carga contra los snotling, pero estos pequeños insensatos aguantan la carga y resisten como pueden el combate contra el monstruo no muerto.

At the right flank, Scare charges against the crypt's infernal courtiers unit screaming like mad. The undead beasts bite and scratch the giant, but they are unable to stop the colossus. At the center the archers fire against the crypt' horrors, but to no avail. The monsters then charge against the bowgoblins who flee in panic after being unable to harm them. The horrors pursue the greenskins without realizing the trap they are stepping in. They clash against the stone trolls who withstand the onslaught while the archers flee throught them ant the speargoblin units release their fanatics against them. Another defeat stolen from the jaws of success occurs at the right flank when the courtiers finally slay Scare only to be crushed to death by his falling corpse. Meanwhile the Varghulf charges against the snotlings only to be stopped by the pesky pygmies.

Los carros de goblins y la Vagoneta de ataque cargan contra la unidad de no muertos, las cuchillas, el rodillo y las lanzas de los gobos arrasan a los zombis, dejando solo al Carro de cadáveres en pie. En el centro, cerca del rio, los troles y los Horrores de la Cripta aguantan como pueden la envestida de los fanáticos, los troles salen mejor parados, pero no consiguen aguantar el combate contra los Horrores y huyen. Pero como los Arqueros se han reagrupado, los Horrores chocan de nuevo contra ellos frenando de nuevo su ímpetu y su potencia.

Both the goblin chariots and the snotling merry wagon charge against the undead biggest unit. Some scythes, spears and rollers after, the zombie blob is no more and the onyl thing left standing there is the corpse wagon. At the center, near the river, trolls and crypt horrors withstand the fanatic destruction as best as they can. The trolls got the better of it, but are then unable to contain the horrors and flee the combat. The undead beasts pursue them but clash again against the regrouped archers.

En este punto, con las espadas en alto y una batalla muy igualada, pese a la explosión nuclear del Gran chamán del flanco derecho y la muerte del chamán (también por explosión de cabeza) del otro flanco. Por su parte, los no muertos habían perdido a sus nigromantes, solo quedaban los vampiros y en los flancos las unidades estaban muy muy mermadas. La batalla estaba muy igualada, así que decidieron dejarla en un honroso empate para ambos jugadores.

At this point the battle is a draw, even with the magical catastrophe of the great shaman and the death, also by head explosion, of the shaman at the other flank. The undead had also lost all their necromancers and the flanking units were greatly diminshed, with onyl the vampires and their retainers holding the line. Thus being the situation, both players decided to declare it a draw.
