Los altos mandos de la Rebelión han recibido un informe que indica que un alto oficial del Imperio se encuentra en la estación espacial Tharkin, cerca del planeta Ithor. Desde su base de Yavin, la Alianza prepara un asalto sobre la estación.
The Rebel High Command had received a report which indicates that a high ranking Imperial officer is at the space station of Tharkin, near the planet Ithor. From their base at Yavin the Alliance launch an assault against the station.

El Comandante Imperial, ante el ataque de los rebeldes, ordena poner a su nave insignia, un Destructor Estelar, a máxima potencia y dirigirse directamente a por el MC-75. Las naves más pequeñas, son dejadas en reserva para evitar el flanqueo de las CR-90 y proteger la Estación Tharkin.

Las distancias se reducen rápidamente y tanto la MC-75 como el Destructor Imperial no pierden oportunidad de dispararse. Por el momento, gracias a los escudos y a las maniobras evasivas, ambos comandantes logran mantener a sus naves, más o menos intactas.

Llegados a distancia mínima, el poder de ambas naves se desata. Los escudos se sobrecargan y caen. Los mamparos exteriores sufren serios daños pero ambas naves siguen luchando de forma encarnizada. Con los escudos desactivados, los escuadrones de Alas X, con Luke a la cabeza, se lanzan a por el Destructor Estelar mientras el resto de escuadrones acelera para atacar la Estación y las naves que la protegen.
