Este año, en el Salute 2016, Battlefront Miniatures presentaba su nuevo juego de combate de tanques, TANKS. General Grumpy, no pudo evitarlo y se hizo con una copia de la caja básica y de la primera oleada de tanques, cartas y demás que ha salido a la venta. Así que, ¡toca probarlo!

Lo primero que hay que decir, es que TANKS es un juego rápido, muy al estilo X-Wing o Wings of War. Sencillo en las normas y en su desarrollo (el reglamento no tiene más de 8 o 10 páginas de reglas). Como en los otros juegos, la gracia de este reglamento, son las combinaciones de tripulaciones y mejoras que le puedes añadir a tus tanques, mejores comandantes, pilotos o artilleros, así como mejoras en munición, armamento o defensas.

The first thing to say is that TANKS is a fast game, quite the X-Wing or Wings of War style. Single the rules and its development (the rules not longer than 8 or 10 pages). Aclarado este punto. El juego en sí, es divertido. Como hemos dicho es un juego rápido, diseñado para ser jugado en unos 30 - 40 minutos y donde la parte con mayor peso, es la confección de tu lista y las mejoras que quieras poner a tus tanques. Nosotros jugaremos más veces, seguro.

[Warhammer 40K 2nd ED] Estigia DD6 - La lucha por el Bastión Kannus

El planeta Estigia DD6 continua en plena guerra, fuerzas del Imperio son movilizadas desde los sectores cercanos, así como varios capítulos de Marines y otros agentes imperiales. Por otra parte, la gran alianza entre los Marines del Caos y los Orcoz, se ha disuelto definitivamente y feroces combates se propagan por la superficie y el subsuelo del planta.

The planet Styx DD6 continuous during the war, Empire forces are mobilized from near sectors, as well as several chapters of Marines and other Imperial agents. Con la llegada de un nuevo regimiento de soldados de Catachan, se decide llevar el combate a las selvas septentrionales del planeta, allí, una de las posiciones de las fuerzas de Defensa Planetaria, el Bastión Kannus, ha caído hace unos meses en manos de adoradores del Caos. Las tropas de Catachan, llegan rápidamente desde el norte y se despliegan, con dos escuadras en cada flanco y su sección de mando y sus vehículos en el centro de su línea de despleigue, mientras que los Ratlings se avanzan a sus tropas y toman posiciones en las runas del Bastión Kannus. Los generales orkoz (en esta ocasión, Gumly, Oriol y yo) decidimos tirar recto y avanzar a por el objetivo con todo nuestro centro, mientras los Jinetes de Jabalí, en el flanco izquierdo, y la Motocicleta de Ataque, en el flanco derecho, maniobraban para rodear las posiciones imperiales.

Finalmente, lanzaron su Rhino hacia el flanco derecho, on la inteción de frenar el avance orco por ese sector.

El fuego de los francotiradores, se hace muy efectivo, eliminando rápidamente a unos cuantos enemigos.  Pero la respuesta de fuego de los Veteranos Goff, consigue eliminar a un par de ellos. El resto de los chicos continúan su avance. En el flanco derecho de los orcos, el motorista pone su vehículo a máxima velocidad y maniobra para rodear a los imperiales, pero en el último momento, mientras intenta derrapar para encararse a las tropas enemigas, pierde el control de la moto y se estrella, matando-se él y haciendo explotar el vehículo.

Con la llegada de los gretchin y cada vez más orcos, la unidad de francotiradores se ve superada y tras perder a casi todos sus miembros por el fuego de los orcos y a uno de ellos por el asalto de una masa de gretchins. Finalmente, el último superviviente de la unidad decide huir para poder luchar otro día. Los guardias imperiales hacen fuego sobre las tropas orcas, consiguiendo eliminar a varios enemigos e incluso, poner en fuga a los Jinetes. Pero cada vez hay más y más orcos en las ruinas y sus disparos empiezan a diezmar a la escuadra de la guardia imperial.

Finalmente, los guardias que tenían que tomar las ruinas, caen en la covardia y huyen directamente del  campo de batalla, dejando el centro del ejercito imperial muy debilitado.  Ante este acontecimiento, el resto de las tropas imperiales decide retirarse para evitar sufrir un mayor número de bajas. Finalmente, una victoria para los Orkoz.

Finally, the guards who have to take the ruins fall into cowardice and run directly from the battlefield, leaving the center of the imperial army greatly weakened. Before this event, the rest of the imperial troops decided to retire to avoid suffering more casualties. Finally, a victory for Orkoz.

[Trafalgar] Trabajando en los Astilleros, preparando las flotillas para Trafalgar

Como ya hemos comentado muchas veces, una de las cosas que más nos gustan, especialmente a mi, son los juegos de combate naval (independientemente de la época), así que, con el tiempo hemos ido adquiriendo varios navíos, tanto del la época de 1800, como de Segunda Guerra Mundial, como de juegos fantásticos. 

As we mentioned many times, one of the things that we like, especially to me, are the games naval combat (regardless of the time), so eventually, we have acquired several ships, both from the time of 1800 , as World War II, as fantastic games.

Hoy, os traigo unas cuantas imágenes de las minis que hemos reunido para jugar a Trafalgar, un reglamento de combate naval de la época napoleónica (aunque se puede ajustar un poco en el tiempo para batallas del siglo anterior, con piratas y galeones). Algunas de las naves, ya las habéis visto, como el Santísima Trinidad, otras las presentamos hoy, con la idea de poder verlas en la mesa de juego en las próximas semanas.

Today, I bring you a few images of the minis we have gathered to play Trafalgar, naval combat regulations of the Napoleonic era (though you can adjust a bit in time for the previous century battles with pirates and galleons). Some of the ships, and have seen, as the Holy Trinity, others present today, with the idea of being able to see them in the game table in the coming weeks.

[Trafalgar] Escaramuza en Trinidad

Cerca las islas españolas del Mar de Cuba, un contingente de buques británicos han estado atacando a los mercantes españoles que regresaban a la Peninsula. La Armada española, decide tenderles una emboscada para terminar con los ataques.

Near the Spanish islands of the Sea of Cuba, a contingent of British ships they have been attacking the Spanish merchant who returned to the Peninsula. The Spanish Armada, decides ambush to end the attacks.

Para esta partida de introducción, jugamos el primer escenario del reglamento, con dos flotas de 500 puntos. Por un la do, la flota británica, un el HMS Goliath, un 3ª Calse de 74 cañones y dos fragatas de escolta, la Medusa y la Indefatigable. Por parte de la Armada española, tenemos al Bahama, un 3ª Clase de 74 cañones, las fragatas Medea y Santa Clara y el grupo de cañoneras B-100

For this battle, we play the first scenario of the rulebook, with two fleets of 500 points. On the one hand, the British fleet hava a HMS Goliath, a 3rd Rate,with 74 guns and two escort frigates, Indefatigable and Medusa. By the Spanish Armada, the Bahama have a 3rd Rate, with 74 guns, the Medea and Santa Clara frigates and gunboats group B-100s.

Los primeros turnos, fueron básicamente de maniobra. Los españoles se encontraron muy a sotavento y se esforzaron en ganar mejores posiciones para cunado llegaran los buques británicos. Las cañoneras, gracias a que podían desplazarse, tanto a vela, como a remos, fueron las primeras en entrar en fuego contra una de las fragatas británicas, la  Indefatigable, a la que en un primer momento, consiguieron dañar levemente en el casco. 

The early turns, were basically maneuver. The Spaniards found to leeward and strove to win best positions for British ships-law arrived. Al acortar las distancias, la  Indefatigable, disparó con todos los cañones de su costado, destruyendo a una de las cañoneras españolas.

Las fragatas británicas se dividen para rodear una pequeña isla, con lo que la flota española, envia a la Medea a por una de las fragatas que ya ha sido dañada por las cañoneras, mientras el resto maniobran para hacer frente a la segunda fragata y al Goliath.

British frigates are divided to surround a small island, which the Spanish fleet sent to the Medea to one of the frigates that has already been damaged by gunboats, while the rest are maneuvering to face the second frigate and HMS Goliath.

La Medea y la  Indefatigable, empiezan un duro intercambio de disparos a media distancia, mientras las dos fragatas se van acercando más y más.

Mientras tanto, el Bahama, maniobra y se situa en posición para atacar a la fragata Medusa.

La lluvia de fuego, hace prender el fuego en la cubierta de la fragata Medusa. Los marineros, realizan grandes esfuerzos por apagar los fuegos, pero finalmente, han de abandonar el barco, que permanece ardiendo hasta explotar.

Mientras tanto, el duelo de las fragatas continua, per lo fragata británica, demuestra la importancia de tener el barlovento. Tras un par de maniobras, consigue situar sus cañones a popa de la fragata española y realiza un disparo de enfilada que daña gravemente a la Medea. Esto le deja el camino despejado para romper el contacto y abandonar el campo de batalla.

Meanwhile, the duel of the frigates, continuous, but British frigate, demonstrates the importance of having the windward. After a few maneuvers, get their guns placed aft of the Spanish frigate and hits a enfilada that seriously harms the Medea. This leaves the way clear to break contact and leave the battlefield.

Finalmente, los británicos consiguieron sacar dos de sus tres barcos del campo de batalla, consiguiendo, así, la victoria.

La verdad es que hacia muchísimo que no jugábamos a Trafalgar, es un juego sencillo y divertido, lejos de otros juegos más complejos como Plomo y Salitre, pero que para jugar partidas con más de dos barcos está muy bien. ¡La gente se divirtió y todos salimos con buenas sensaciones y con ganas de jugar una nueva partida!!

The truth is that by far not played at Trafalgar, is a simple and fun, away from other more complex games like Plomo y Salitre game, but to play games with more than two ships is fine. People had fun and we all left with good feelings and wanting to play a new game!!

[Pocket Wars] Escaramuza en Vilar Formoso

Después de mucho tiempo, hemos jugado una nueva partida de Pocket Wars, en esta ocasión, para testar las listas de su Poket Wars Teams - Peninsular War, que nos ofrece la posibilidad de realizar combates y escaramuzas en la Península entre 1808 y 1814.

Para la batalla que jugamos, un enfrentamiento entre dos piquetes, jugamos con franceses y anglo-portugueses. Para facilitar las cosas, la partida seria un combate básico, sin misiones, más allá de matar al los oponentes.

Ahora os dejamos con unas cuantas fotos de la partida.

[Jornadas] Batalla de Poitiers 732 dC

El pasado día 9 de Abril, los amigos del club Rvbicon, de Hospitalet, nos invitaron a organizar alguna mesa de demostración en sus jornadas de temática Medieval. Fue la excusa perfeta para poder probar nuestro escenario para DBMM de Poitiers (Tours) del 732 d.C. 

On April 9, friends Rvbicon club of Hospitalet, invited us to organize a demonstration table in an active day of Medieval theme. Perfet was the excuse to use our scenario for DBMM Rules of Poitiers (Tours) from 732 A.D.

Las tropas enfrentadas eran, andalusies de Al-Gafiki, contra merovingios de Carlos Martel.

The troops were facing, Andalusian Al-Gafiki against Charles Martel Merovingian.

 Una vez divididos los jugadores entre los dos bandos y puestos en situación histórica, se empezó la batalla, con las tropas de los merovingios teniendo la iniciativa. Mientras Carlos Martel, conseguía a duras petas conter a sus impetuosos caballeros y hombres de armas, sus comandantes de las alas, no lo hicieron tan bien y la caballería se lanzó a galope tendido a por los árabes.

Once players divided between the two sides and put into historical situation. We began the battle with the troops of the Merovingian taking the initiative. While Carlos Martel, was getting hard petas conter to his mighty knights and fighting men, commanders of the wings, they did so well and threw cavalry galloped to the Arabs.

Mientras tanto, Odon, al mando de sus caballeros, decide rodear el bosque para atacar el campamento árabe, que prácticamente no está defendido.

Meanwhile, Odo, commanding his knights, he decides to surround the forest to attack the Arab camp, which is virtually undefended.

El centro del campo de batalla quedó algo refrenado, mientras los comandantes de los dos ejércitos esperaban el desenlace de los combates en los flancos.

En el flanco derecho de los francos, los camellos consiguen derrotar a todos los caballeros, menos al general y su escolta, mientras los Hostigadores árabes y los arqueros francos, mantienen un tremendo duelo a corta distancia.

On the right flank of the Franks, camels manage to defeat all the knights, less the general and his escort, while Arab skirmishers and archers francs, maintain a tremendous duel at close range.

Mientras, en lo más alejado del flanco izquierdo franco, Odón, llega finalmente al campamento de Al-Gafiki. Esto, junto con la victoria final de las tropas del flanco derecho, desestabiliza a las tropas árabes, que se empiezan a ver en serios problemas.

Meanwhile, in the farthest left flank franc, Odo finally reaches the camp of Al-Gafiki. This, along with the final victory of the troops of the right flank, destabilizes the Arab troops, who are beginning to see serious problems.

Finalmente, tras duros combates a lo largo de todo el frente y un emocionante duelo entre Calos Martel y Al-Gafiki. Los ejércitos árabes pierden su ansia de lucha y se desbanda, dejando a los francos de Carlos Martel como los victoriosos amos del campo de batalla.

Finally, after heavy fighting along the entire front and an exciting duel between Charles Martel and Al-Gafiki. Arab armies lose their eagerness to fight and disbands, leaving the Franks of Charles Martel as the victorious masters of the battlefield.
