Con el escenario seleccionado de antemano por Vinç, se colocaron los marcadores de objetivo y luego la escenografía (importante el orden, ya que no se puede situar ningún objetivo sobre un elemento de escenografía, han de estar todos a nivel del suelo). Luego se desplegaron las tropas. Primero se declaran que unidades quedaran en reserva o reserva estratégica (ya sea por reglas o pagando puntos de mando) luego, de forma alterna, ambos jugadores van colocando sus unidades sobre el campo de batalla.
The scenario was selected by Vinç. Target markers were set up and then the terrain (the order is important so no objective is set on terrain elements, but on the ground. then troops were deployed after declaring which ones remain in reserve (per rules or command points), one unit at a time.
Los Lobos inician la batalla, gracias a varias unidades infiltradas, rápidamente toman el control de buena parte de la mesa, los infiltradores y los incursores (nuevas tropas primaris de infiltración) controlan los objetivos del centro del campo de batalla y del flanco derecho de los marines. Además una unidad de intercesor aparece flanqueando y se posiciona para tomar el control del tercer objetivo, el del flanco izquierdo. El fuego de los lobos fue poco preciso y algo escaso, la mayoría de armas estaban fuera de alcance o no causaron graves daños a sus objetivos y como no había tropas enemigas cerca, no hubo ningún asalto. El primer turno no se puntúa, así que ahora, les tocaría a los marines espaciales aguantar el chaparrón de disparos de los eldars, perdón aeldari y mirar de mantener sus objetivos.
The Wolves start the battle taking several objectives with infiltrated units (including the new Primaris incursors) at the center and the right flank. Also, an Intercessor unit appears on the table flanking the xenos and secure a third target at the left flank. Marine firepower was disapointing since much of their weapons were out of range. There was also no assaults. Now they had to face the firepower of the eldars.
Los aeldari avanzan de forma precavida por todo el campo de batalla, sus guardianes se acercan a los intercesores para abrir fuego contra ellos con sus catapultas shuriken y su plataforma gravitatoria, les sigue el vidente que usará sus poderes para apoyar y potenciar el potencial ofensivo de los guardianes. En el otro extremo del campo de batalla, los vengadores implacables toman un objetivo apoyados por un falcon. La potencia de fuego de los aeldari es asombrosa, los guardianes abaten a varios intercessor con sus catapultas y los vengadores y unos exploradores hacen lo propio con la unidad de infiltrados (que todo y estar en cobertura sufren varias bajas). Finalmente el falcon abre fuego y elimina sin problemas al Land Speeder Typhoon, el cual, al explotar hiere a uno de los incursores. Como las unidades aun están a cierta distancia, sigue sin haber combates.
The Eldars advanced cautiously all across the battlefield, their guardians closing in the intercessors to shower them in Shuriken fire with the help of a farseer behind them. At the other side of the field the Dire avengers secure an objective supported by a Falcon. As they open fire, the guardians finish off several intercessors as the avengers and explorers do the same to a unit of infiltrators (even being in cover). The last to shoot is the Falcon, who easily wipes out the Land Speeder Typhoon, which explodes and wounds one incursor. There are no combats this time also.
Las skjaldmö de Russ (cazadoras grises) se mueven para tomar la posición de los incursores, mientras estos avanzan para atacar a un bípode de combate que ha aparecido en el flanco y ha dañado al dread venerable. El sacerdote rúnico avanza para hacer frente a los vengadores implacables y los intercesores preparan sus armas de asalto para descargar toda la ira del Emperador sobre los guardianes eldar. En esta ocasión la fase de disparo es más efectiva. Los intercesores eliminan por completo a los guardianes y las skjalmö consiguen abatir a un par de vengadores implacables. Los incursores cargan contra el bípode de combate, pero no consiguen dañar la maquina de guerra.
The skjaldmö of Russ (count as grey hunters) move to secure the position of the incursors while those attack an Eldar walker who just appeared at the flank damaging the venerable dreadnought. The Runic priest advances against the dire avengers and the intercessors ready their close combat weapons to unleash the Emperor's wrath against the Eldar guardians. This time the shooting phase was more prolific: the intercessors wipe out the guardians and the skjaldmö eliminate two avengers. Then the incursors charge against the walker without causing any significant damage.
Llegados a la mitad de la partida el caos se desata y todo el campo de batalla es un seguido de asaltos, contraasaltos, tiroteos y cargas. Los Lobos han conseguido mantener el centro del campo de batalla y disputar el objetivo del flanco derecho contra los vengadores implacables. En el flanco izquierdo, el sargento de los incursores mantiene un duelo a contra el vidente aeldari mientras, en el derecho, los vengadores implacables abren fuego y cargan contra el sacerdote rúnico. El Falcon maniobra para atacar al dread venerable, pero el piloto calcula mal su posición y queda muy cerca de la máquina de los marines espaciales. Se suceden los intercambios de disparo a larga distancia, los exploradores abaten a varias de las skjalmö y estas disparan sobre el Falcon, sin causar daños.
We reach the middle of the game and chaos unleashes across the battlefield in a whirlwind of assaults, countercharges, firefights and charges. The Wolves managed to retain the center of the field and to contest the right flank objective against the dire avengers. At the left flank the Incursor sargeant duels against the Eldar farseer while at the right one the dire avengers shot at the Runic priest before charging against him. The Falcon maneuvres to attack the dreadnought, but the pilot miscalculates and ends up too close to the Human machine. The skjalmö fire against the vehicle without causing damage and loss some of their sisters when the rangers respond in kind.
Al final, el dread ataca al Falcon en combate y destruye a la maquina aeldari, las skjalmö cargan contra los restantes vengadores que aun se enfrentan al sacerdote rúnico y eliminan a los supervivientes del combate. Los incursores siguen peleando contra el bípode los que mantiene a la maquina inmovilizada. De las ruinas llameantes del Falcon salen varios dragones llameantes que son sorprendidos por los Sabuesos de Morkai.
At the end, the dreadnought attacks the Falcon destroying it, the female wolves charge agaisnt the surviving dire avengers and wipe them out before they can do the same to the Runic priest. The incursors maintain the wlaker immovilised and several flaming dragons are ambushed by Morkai's hounds as they arrive to the battle.
