Una base de extracción de gases del Mechanicus ha enviado una señal de desastre a través de un astrópata. La señal es detectada por el Aliento de Fuego, una fragata rápida de los Dragones del Emperador. El Capellán que comanda a los Marines Espaciales que hay en la nave, decide enviar una fuerza para investigar la señal, averiguar que ha pasado y ver si hay supervivientes.

De nuevo retomamos el Oldhammer 40.000, con una nueva partida de Warhammer 40.000 Segunda Edición. Para esta partida Alberto preparó una lista de 1500 puntos de Marines del Caos de Nurgle, incluyendo parte de las nuevas tropas que hemos ido adaptando de las versiones más nuevas (y que podéis encontrar AQUÍ), como el Dron de Plaga. Sergi a su vez, organizó tambien una fuerza de 1500 puntos, en la que incluyo una unidad de Centuriones Marines Espaciales. Una vez preparadas las listas y la mesa, se repartieron las misiones, en esta ocasión, Ocupar y Mantener para ambos jugadores.

La partida la empezaron las tropas del Caos, que gracias a una Carta de Estrategia, pudieron desplegar a varias unidades muy adelantadas y cerca del objetivo, que ocupó rápidamente el Comandante del Caos y su Bestia de Nurgle, Babitas. En la fase de disparo, tanto el Land Speeder de los Dragones, como uno de los exterminadores fueron eliminados fácilmente por las tropas de Nurgle.

El Capellán y los Centuriones aguanta más o menos bien el primer envite de los demonios de Nurgle. La escuadra táctica, aprovecha que los demonios están ocupados para hacer fuego sobre los Marines de Plaga que ocupan el edificio. El fuego de bólter es poco efectivo y el multicañon de fusión falla el disparo, pero impacta sobre el edificio, haciendo colapsar la estructura y ¡destruyéndolo!
The Chaplain and the Centuriones endured the first strike of the Daemons and the Tactical Squad, fre from Daemonic attentions, fires against the Plague Marines inside the centrla building. Bolter fire is completely inefective and the Multi-melta cannon misses it's shoot, but it hits the building colapsing it!
El Capellán, cae finalmente ante la Gran Imundicia, la cual, usa su movimiento de impulso para acercarse a los Centuriones y ayudar a sus demonios menores. El derrumbe del edificio ha eliminado a varios Marines de Plaga, cosa que aprovechan ahora los Veteranos de los Dragones y la Escuadra Táctica para intentar disputar o recuperar el objetivo que ahora está en medio de las ruinas.
The next turn the Chaplain is swallowed by the Great Unclean One and it uses it's impulse movement to enter the fray with the Centurions in help of the lesser Daemons. The collapse of the main building killed sevral Plague Marines and the Dragons' Veterans alongside the Tactical Squad took advantage from it to try snatchingthe obejctive from Pallid Heart's hands, now a pile of rubble.

In the close quarters that follow the Unclean One destroys the Centurions via a mix of psiquic power and sheer brute force. Meanwhile, a blessed Tactical Marine, now a Plaguebearer, charges against his former comrades and kills all of them.
En el último turno los Veteranos Dragones del Emperador consiguen acabar con los demonios de Nurgle, los Portadores de Plaga, pero el fuego de los Marines de Nurgle deja sólo a un superviviente de la escuadra, que, junto al Apotecario, consiguen llegar cerca del objetivo y disputarlo a los servidores del Caos.
In the last turn the Dragon's Veterans exorcise the Plaguebearers, but the Plague Marines' firepower kills almost all of them, leaving only one survivor. This Marine, alongside the Apotecarian move to the objective forcing a draw.
La partida fue una masacre para las tropas del Imperio, solo quedaron DOS miniaturas en el campo de batalla, uno de los Veteranos y el Apotecario. Al final, victoria del Caos 9 a 5. Una gran partida, creo que los dos mejores momentos, la muerte de Epistolario de los Dragones, que se comió 1D12 Heridas (que se dice rápido) y el derrumbe del edificio.
The game was a bloodbath for the Imperial forces, with only two miniatures standing on the battlefield: a Veteran and the Apotecarian. In the end it was a Chaos victory 9 to 5 VPs. The best moments are perhaps the death of the Epistolarian (who "eated" 1D12 wounds) and the destruction of the building (TN: In my opinion it was the destruction of the Landspeeder: a single autocannon hit rolled two impacts, and each one killed one of the crewmen!).
